It's only the hallway

I have been working and working on repainting and redoing the inside of my house...this house is about 30 years old...and I swear hadn't been painted on the inside or the outside for that matter until we bought it 6 years ago...we immediately gave it a new coat of paint and new carpet before we moved in...okay now I think it's time for a new coat of paint and change things around....My kids know how I am about color in my house....NOT!!! I like white...white and more white...and I'll accent with color...well, it's time to move forward with color....I now like color on my walls....all the wood in this house has been the dark wood...and I am having a very hard time with that...I like white trim...and so it's taken a lot of work but I'm getting there....this week I tackled my hall way...a simple hall way...dark...and plain.....(Sorry I forgot to take before pictures...imagine the white walls and dark trim and doors.)
I painted the hall a sand white....which is really pretty (stole the color from my daughters house)...did the trim in white......and changed all the electrical outlets to white...what a difference that made...
Love...Love...Love my closet doors....
painted my brown frames to black....and added a saying....
And at the end of the hall I repainted my mirror black and added the table...my hallway is so pretty
now...I still have a couple of walls I need to add something to but don't know what just yet....so I'll ponder it for a few days....and let you see what I've done....this was my week long project...started on
Monday and finished on Friday....I still have 4 rooms left to update....so you can guess what my summer is going to be like...

  7. It looks beautiful. I, myself, have recently begun to paint walls in an actual color with white trim and I'm really pleased with it. I think your hallway is wonderful. I really, really like the table and mirror at the end. And the door mouldings look great. I also like that aqua color. Great job. Thanks for the post -- makes me want to grab my brush and roller.

  18. Lois,
You hallway looks wonderful! I know you enjoy walking down it so much more. :)
I am like you...I like neutral colors and white trim. Our house had on brown trim when we moved it and we painted it all white too! It made the house look brighter and bigger.
I love the little table at the end of your hall. Very beautiful.
Thank you so much for linking to my party!
    Blessings,
    Traci
